You already keep your systems, service history, schedules and inventory in Quartermaster. Now you can point an AI assistant at them and simply ask. “What maintenance is overdue?” “When did I last change the engine oil, and how many hours ago was that?” “Do I have a spare impeller aboard, and which locker is it in?” The assistant reads the answer out of your own Quartermaster records — live, every time you ask.
It can do more than answer. Ask it to go through the service log and tell you what it would do before the next passage, and it will read the schedules and the history together and give you a list. Tell it to create those tasks, and they appear in your app straight away, recorded under your name. Ask it for a twelve-month maintenance summary for a surveyor, an insurer or a buyer, and it will write one from your actual records rather than your memory.
Some of the things it does well:
An assistant never receives your Quartermaster password, and it never gets your whole account. When you connect one, Quartermaster shows you a permission screen where you choose one yacht or building — not all of them — and tick exactly which parts it may read, and whether it may change anything at all. Permission to make changes starts switched off, so an assistant connected in a hurry can read and nothing more.
Some things are simply not on offer: an assistant can never see or change your crew list, never upload or delete files, and never reach your subscription or billing details. Everything you have connected is listed under Account → AI connections, showing what each one may do and when it last looked at your data. Revoking takes one tap and cuts it off immediately.
If you share a yacht, a connection gives an assistant no more access than you have yourself — and if the owner later takes you off the crew list, any assistant you connected loses access at the same moment you do.
In Claude or ChatGPT, go to Settings → Connectors, add a custom connector, and give it the address https://quartermaster.me/mcp. You will be sent to Quartermaster to sign in and choose what to share, and then you are done. The full walkthrough, including what each permission means and how to check the application asking for access is the one you expect, is in our guide.
This is built on the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to real applications, so Quartermaster works with any assistant that speaks it — not just the two we have named here.
